Atop the walls

Across the bridge and back up a flight of stairs to the top, Caddoc and E'lara enter the oldest section of walls (as evidenced by the years of mossy overgrowth on the stones).  This section is devoid of the bridges the previous area had, forcing the two heroes to move laterally along one wall until they find a viable crossing point.

The Minotaur and Wargar defenses continue to grow in strength as the two heroes venture deeper.  The path across from one wall to the other is especially treacherous:  the Wargar have placed a Flechette Launcher where it can easily hold a choke point at the middle of the bridge.  As is custom for the two mercenaries, they take the weapon emplacement from its owners and then defend it against waves of enemies who attempt to take it back.

Passing through a door, Caddoc and E'lara encounter Wargar retreating to mount a defense later.  The raised vantage point the two heroes have creates a "fish in a barrel" situation that they can take advantage of before continuing on.  However, at the far end, they have to drop down to that lower level, which should make them anxious:  are there enemies about to do the same to them?

Before the question can be answered, they enter an ancient cathedral of sorts, built directly into the wall.  Into this restrictive space without cover appears another Harridan, whose staff and flurry of quick strikes can be especially deadly in close quarters.  Caddoc and E'lara struggle to both do damage and keep their distance at the same time.

As the Harridan dies, Wargar open the cathedral's gates, opening the way for the two heroes to fight across the "fish in a barrel" courtyard they saw earlier.  The heavily-armored Minotaur are ideal fighters in the space, their long rushes forward covering the long distance between groups of pillars in seconds.
